The Intelligent Orchestration Manifesto: a major shift from human-routed coordination to system-composed decisions across value chains. For twenty-three centuries or more, hierarchy solved the coordination problem across every kind of operation - there was nothing to choose from, it was the only method available.

## The argument

- **The 2,300-year-old routing problem**: from Alexander's supply lines to the modern org chart, hierarchy is an information routing protocol - and no technology has replaced the humans running it in twenty-three hundred years.
- **MRP, ERP, Lean**: each optimised the routing layer without replacing it - visibility is not intelligence.
- **The control tower**: sees everything, decides nothing autonomously.
- **The digital twin as world model**: a real-time decision substrate that replaces information flow through management layers.
- **The intelligence layer**: composes responses across the value chain that no individual planner would construct.
- **The Edge - what stays human**: supplier relationships, crisis judgment, ethical sourcing, market entry, talent. Leaders move from the routing layer to the edge.

Intelligent orchestration isn't a product or a platform. It's the recognition that the coordination layer in physical operations is moving to systems - changing how we organise teams, make decisions, build technology, and where leaders spend their time.
